Justin Timberlake's video for his song 'Mirrors' was inspirational for these particular mirror shots as we wanted mirrors to occur to be a key metaphor for our protagonists inner conflict and facing up to her problems. The use in of mirrors in Justin Timberlakes video were to portray a sense of longing and desire. This could be interpreted by the audience for our video as our protagonist is longing to change and also relates to our lyrics 'walk away from empty gold'.
We all really liked the use of low-key lighting as it created a mysterious atmosphere which we have attempted to emulate in our video by using a monochrome colour palette and multiple torches in the corner shot which created shadows on the wall. Also to create confusion and reflect the protagonists split personality we used mirrors to show two different angles in one shot, making the audience feel uneasy.
