Here are the bloopers from the filming day, enjoy!

Also Hannah got really sun burnt! OUCH!
I think one thing Hannah has learned from the prelim is to wear a higher factor!!

Our finished prelim

Here is our finished Preliminary Task:

Before we started filming we prepared well beforehand and organised ourselves well, so when it came to filming we knew exactly what we needed to do. We did this by preparing detailed plan and storyboards with timings. In addition we ensured we had the original video on hand to refer to. The equipment was particularly easy to operate as we used a similar camera last year so it was pretty easy to get to grips with.

However, we faced many difficulties when filming our prelim. An example of a problem we faced was our camera running out of charge whilst filming which disabled us from getting all of the shots we needed in one day (which we hoped to do!). The framing and composition was quite hard to get right as Hannah found it hard to stay in the same position for a long time (continuity). Another difficulty we faced was the lip syncing which proved quite time consuming.

Overall I thought we did really well as it looks quite similar to the actual music video. However we would need to work on improving the lip syncing in the middle. We found it really hard to film Hannah carrying out the exact same actions as shown in the video in time. But although we found it somewhat difficult, it does look pretty similar to the original video.

Storyboarding

In todays lesson we started to storyboard our shots for the prelim. We attempted to make it as detailed as possible including the type and duration of the shot. We hope this will enable the filming process to go a lot quicker and smoother as the storyboard allows us to know exactly what we need to do and film.

Preliminary Task song choice

So after much song searching we settled on recreating this music video by Sabrina Carpenter called 'We'll Be the Stars'. We decided to do this video as we believe that it will not be too difficult to execute well but yet still not be 'too easy' as it include a large number of different shots and camera angles. In addition Hannah (our actress) knows the song really well so we wouldn't need to waste time having to learn the lyrics. The setting of the video we could also easily replicate as we could easily film in one location i.e. Enfield Town Park so we wouldn't need to travel far to get to our location.
